As for shooting, which I've already explained in the former post, editing has been a kind of similar experience. Mainly the focus was here on lipsinging as well, during the recording phase the text has to be kept and the song on the site to be able to adjust time the record and the singing to the original song. At editing this was the question of synchronisation. For instance if in real a scene would have gone too fast, than reducing speed could solve this problem easily as well as the shaky hand of the cameraman:)
Otherwise the applied technces and use of the editing software meant no difficulties, as in last time when by mistake the sound of the camera was left on the record;) But generally people learn from what they have experienced and as a practicum class we are supposed to gain the know-how with doing the things right on the spot, with all the pros and cons of experimenting:)

Shooting the Music Video II.
The second shooting was basically similar to the first music video shooting, where the movements, the continiousity the rythm of actions and the story board set up was to match the music. Now we not only had to keep ourselves to these rules, but the lipsinging was an other factor we had to take into consideration at the recording.
Our choice has fallen on Gergő, he was the one who had the chance to proove not only his skills in taking the shots but in acting as well. So far I could mainly experience the camera basically from the other side, as an actor, so I really took advantage of my interrest in photography this time as the operator of the device.
Shooting however is a lot more different than taking a snapshot, you have to keep the camera constantly stable (if not using a tripod), beaware of changing light conditions so that the white balance does not go crazy from 2 or more sources of light ( in which case U better set it manually for the predominant light source-type) and watching the frame and space in front and behind the object in order to keep the zoom always on the topic.
In conclusion I would say that I could improove technically my shoots comparing to the first time I held a camera and I feel that I have understood the point in why does a camera man do different things and what for. Second time, I definetelly had more to learn from the shooting/recording part, which I feel positively about:)

CV
In farmes of video production, as we are next year about to start off with our career in practice, we talked trough how to apply the already existing skills and to represent the personal competencies of someone in the most suitable, fitting and eye-catching way.
To win the attention of the person who skimms trough or just looks at the CVs is cruicial to be won and when it is done, it is also important to keep it wake, not bored and generate an extra, special interrest in our personality, which differs from the other candidate's.
As long as our CV matches the image of the company on the desired candidate, we should win the second step, the interview. Gestures, body positions play an extremely important role, as we have already discussed when making the second video, so that we communcate the same, true message of ourself. If all the things match, than we are the winners, hopefully;)

The Power of Lyrics, The next assignment on producing a music video
How to begin with the production of a real video clip?;)
First, we need to choose a song and analyse it, which seems to be a logical starting point for the purpose: a video with lipsinging and enjoyable content in consistency with the lyrics of the song.
The images, people, movements & motions should fit the rythm, rpm and other measurable sequences of the song which we may devie it into. By the way, human communication is based on non-verbal gestures, so in case of given words, the meaning could be interpreted in almost as many ways as we wish to, only up to us;)
Understanding of the song is also based on the culture, experiences and the perosnal connection to symbols of the beholder. If you switch symbols, different meanings can be attached or provoked in people to attach them to the topic, according to their personal attitudes.
As an exmaple to symbolism and the hidden meaning in songs I would refer to the song called American Woman, reflecting on the symbolical relationship of a male/female in a figurative meaning according to the American/Canadian relationship.

Next Music Video
After having seen our film and got a review from class we are again about to do an other music video. This video will feature various elements, that I could draw a similar line between the previous semester's video, when we had to make a 'talkie'. This time, we obviously are not obliged to sing, at least my best intentions tell me not to;) But to lipsing for a given piece of music. This is quite a though thing, becuse the variety of songs is limited to four and the tastes within the class just reach to extremes. I personally don't consider myself to listen to extreme sort of music, but the creation of such a music video with singing and acting as if we were the perofrmers of the video seems to be a challanging thing to me;)

Editing
Obviously shooting is a never ending process, always with a need for further, more perfect material, U just can't stop it. There is however a limit, where U have to and think of the rest of the time, that should be spent by putting together the film and sound.
This is a long job, as we were choosing the scenes and all the effects, white ballance, special filters, speed etc. I realized that the most essential thing in all this is the concept of the structure, that should be determined preliminary to the process, so that editing could go easier and more smooth.
What we do is really like doing a large movie in small, to gain 1minute video, we need to invest 1-2hours into it. The rest is just additional effort and joy, which makes the whole worth be done and leaves the person feel well in the end.

Shooting
Last week, we have taken our time after the exhibition tour with Sára and went to shoot the first stuff, and basically the bulk of the material, we needed to the music video that we are doin now.
Our purpose was to find a place where many people could be found and also with a dancing atmosphere, so instead of a club we went to a dancing school;)
There we had everything we needed to create diversity and different motions for the film: children were excitedly dancing and perfroming for the camera in one room, in the other we had phantomen dancers to perform movements for us in synchron, a majorette performer, flamenco lession and the rehearsal of a dance-show.
Filming them was quite fun and the ease of shots varied from room to room, sy just loves to be filmed, some go crazy from the camera and some people just get confused and get blocked from the device... But one thing is sure we needed and did, shooting for edit! this is the next chapter of that adventorous afto in the dance school, see for details the music video;))

Genre and Diegesis
Recognising music videos genres without sound sounds strange, indeed it is strange, but turned out not to be a very dengerous job. It is surprisingly a straightforward thing to categorize a music video by watching people, their styles, movements and all the details how things are arranged in a video clip. This is due to the familiar norms we know from our society, we are okay with and even the ones we apply or lead our life according to.
The diegesis, which means the narrative's voice is a feature that you obviously have to hear and listen to when you deal with a music video and its analysis. Even withouth the actual realisation that we are listening to a story told, the narrator or the script of the music tells us one.
E.g. The ugly girl in the video explains her desires, her exact state and her point of view on the Platoon love affair with the cool neighbour guy.
Next, the more information we can gather from the video is the setting of it, as it is located in a sub-urban area, where these kids live their middle-class, teeange life. At highschool cool guys play football and 'nerds' play in the marching band. All the clothes, cars, daily accessories show their status and give suggestions to their behaviours (girl reading book/stuuding all the time, guy gave a lift by his girlfriends new cabrio).
With all these seen/heared additional informations we get a picture of what the producer of the video/soundtrack intends to communicate for us and therefor according to our personal taste we like it or not.

Week 2
In the second week, we have discussed and made clear the 1st assignment how it should be made. Next to this theoretical overview of the MTV channel and video clips were given, with a review of several videos. esp. favouring Madonna;) the ever green, who is still capable of selling the same core messege in a different coating for some 20 yrs:D that's the way a real star should do the job;)
Otherwise taking care of the cam to be sure that it is on hip level when taking a dance to see the person in one shot or how to film when the person drops to the ground, should be fun.
On the other hand, different types such as teenage rock, RUN DMC hiphop and various genres were discussed to fit the production of our videos and its music types/styles.

week 1 Intorduction
The afterlife and so called second part of the video production and motion picture studies is the music video production, which is indeed not a new thing to me, as we have done already some sound and music to the previous films in last semester.
However, in this semester the focus will be on the production of two films, which are focused on the taught material of music clips. A different area, with a different purpose, to make an impression via a shorter but more dense and effective performance recorded on camera.
This is talking for itself I guess, let's see how it looks in real;)
